This Month’s Student of the Month is
Dawn Pineau!
When did you start dancing?
I’ve been dancing since I was 2 years old and almost went to the Boston School of Ballet at 13 in 1968! We then moved to Florida and when we looked for classes, the local studio offered me to teach the classes instead! I had stopped dancing until I was 55 when I discovered Ballroom Dancing! Its been 14 years since then and I’m so glad I found Arthur Murray Wildwood.
Why did you decide to start dancing again?
Because I love dancing! It’s my exercise, my escape, I’ve been doing it since I was 2. I have 2 rods in my back but I wont let that stop me from dancing!
What brought you to Arthur Murray Wildwood?
It’s been a few years since I had danced and I really wanted to find a place again but everything was too far. It was my niece who saw the Arthur Murray sign and told me about it so I had to come!
What do you love about ballroom dancing and how has it impacted you?
I love how I feel. before i wasn’t confident but now I feel like I have a place I can be myself. This studio specifically makes me feel that way, like I am not being judged.
Rain taps the roof like a samba beat—April’s dance is pure and sweet.
